The poles that could be used as totems have fallen. They no longer stand erect but even in this state they supply a life force for the flora that grows on and around them, a resting spot for the birds that sing and nest near them and the river song has changed now that it must navigate around them. Silent Totem Speaks; even in death nature finds purpose.
