Standing on the shores of the Adams River in 2010 was a spectacle of unequaled proportion. There were more Sockeye Salmon than river! Witnessing millions of Salmon returning home to spawn and die is one of my most cherished memories. This painting is a salute to those salmon that were able to make the journey from the Pacific and swim for two weeks in lakes and river to return to the place of their birth to successfully spawn and provide the next generation. I believe the two salmon in this painting were the lucky ones that successfully completed the mission.
